Must check before travel

Aarogya Setu app

Download and install Aarogya Setu app on your phone. You can get it from Playstore or Appstore.

Register on the app and ensure that it shows Green status before your travel. Children below 14 years of age are exempt from this requirement.

ID proof

You would be required to show your ID proof at multiple points in the journey. So, don’t forget to carry it along.

Web check-in and download boarding pass

Only those who have made a web check-in will be allowed to enter the airport. So, ensure that you make a web check-in and download your boarding pass for your flight before leaving. You can carry a printed or e-boarding pass.

You can do a web check-in by visiting the respective Airline’s website.

Only ONE check-in baggage with label

Only one check-in bag per person is allowed. Download and print the baggage tag from your airline’s website and paste it on your baggage before departing. If you’re not able to print the label, write your PNR on a thick paper and tie it to your bag with a strong thread such that it is clearly visible.

Only ONE Hand baggage

Only one piece of hand baggage per person is allowed. Most airlines will not allow the use of overhead stowage bins. So, make sure your hand baggage weighs less than 7 kg, measures less than 40cm x 30cm x 10cm, and can fit under your front seat in the aircraft.

Authorized vehicle to travel to the airport

Only authorized vehicles are allowed at the airports. Ensure that you have an authorized vehicle or book an authorized taxi to travel to the airport.

Mask

Ensure that you carry a mask with you. You will need to wear a mask at all times during your journey. Also, airport entry is not allowed without wearing a mask.

COVID symptoms

Passengers with fever will most likely not be allowed to travel. So, it’s better to do a temperature check before you leave for the airport.

Plan to reach 2-4 hours prior to your departure time

You need to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your departure. However, you will also not be allowed inside the terminal building until 4 hours before your departure time. So, plan accordingly.

Airport safety steps

At the airport, you will need to follow these steps to ensure safety.

Entering the terminal building

Reach the airport 2-4 hours before your departure time.

Wear your mask while entering the airport and arrive at the screening area.

Before entering the terminal building, you will be checked for temperature. This will be done by a designated staff at the Airport.

Notice the social distance markings at every waiting step and obey those markings.

On your turn, display the status on your Aarogya Setu app to the staff.

Then, move to the CISF counter at the entry check- point and show your identity card, the boarding pass/e-boarding pass to the CISF staff. The CISF staff on confirming the identity will allow you to enter.

Proceed to the baggage drop counter.

At the baggage drop counter, display your PNR and ID to the staff.

Also show your PNR written on your baggage to the staff.

The staff will confirm the details and then send you an electronic receipt through SMS. Note that you will not get a printed receipt.

Security

Your airport will have made arrangements to guide you through the screening. Just follow the instructions

Remove all metal items on your body as you usually do in a normal airport screening process

Get your handbag checked. Ensure that your handbag follows the size guidelines issued by your airline

Security staff will practice 'minimum touch' concept to reduce physical contact with you

Security Hold Area including Lounge, Prayer Room, Kids play area etc.

Proceed to the security hold area after security screening.

Maintain social distancing and sanitization protocols.

Do not use the chairs which are marked 'Not For Use'

While going around F&B, retail outlets, etc., maintain social distance and use sanitizers available at different locations.

If you have any bio hazardous material like used masks, gloves, tissues etc., dispose them in the yellow colored disposable bins/bags placed at strategic locations at the airport.

Boarding

Pay attention to the various communication materials displayed at the airport about various health advisories relating to pre-boarding and during the flight precautions.

Collect the safety kit (three layered surgical mask, face shield, and sanitizer) from your airline near the boarding gate.

Wear mask, face shield and sanitize your hands before proceeding to the boarding gate for scanning the boarding pass.

Maintain social distance while standing in the boarding queue.

On your turn, scan your boarding pass at the self-scanning facility and move to the boarding gate
