IndiGo is set to expand into Scandinavia with new thrice-weekly flights between Mumbai and Copenhagen from 8
October 2025. Operated on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the route strengthens connections between India and Northern Europe for both leisure and
business travellers. India’s largest airline, IndiGo, is all set to open a new route into Scandinavia. The airline announced on Tuesday that

What to Expect Onboard
Passengers will have two seating options: standard economy or the premium “IndiGoStretch” product. The latter offers extra legroom, reclining
seats, priority check-in, hot meals, and complimentary drinks. IndiGo says the long-haul service also comes with in-flight entertainment and close
to 300 hours of content to help pass the journey.
Bookings Now Open
Seats on the new route are already on sale through IndiGo’s website, mobile app, and major travel platforms. With this launch, IndiGo continues to
position itself as a serious player in long-haul travel, steadily extending its footprint well beyond Asia and the Middle East.
Expanding into Northern Europe
The thrice-weekly service will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. This widebody jet comes with a full crew as part
of the wet lease arrangement, a model IndiGo has used for other long-haul flights. For IndiGo, Copenhagen is not just another pin on the map. It’s the
44th international and 138th overall destination in its growing network, and its first step into Scandinavia. CEO Pieter Elbers described Copenhagen as
a “gateway to the Nordics” that will make travel between India and Northern Europe more convenient for both business and leisure.
Why Copenhagen Matters
Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most progressive capitals, known for its design, history, and sustainable urban planning. Its location makes it a convenient
base for onward connections to Sweden, Norway, and the wider Nordic region. For Indian travellers, the new link promises smoother access to Northern
Europe’s tourism, education, and business hubs.
